12/20/11: First Entry - Planet Earth, USA, LA, BR, Home, 1:40 PM CST
I am who we all are... only now, there is more of me than there was before... in many more ways than one.
12/23/11: 2nd Entry - Same place, Different Time, 12:50 PM CST
Alone together, together alone... been away, haven't seen you in a while... have we grown up differently, have we changed our style?... there ain't no good guy, there ain't no bad guy, there's only you and me and we may disagree... To me, the above excerpted lyrics from a 1970 tune capture my world view precisely. In other words, live and let live.
09/19/13: Same planet, same location 1:54 pm CST.
Retirement from corporate America came effective 03/31/13 after 33 years, 3 months, and 3 days working in Big Oil as an Environmental Adviser. All total work life was about 38 years or so; Retirement is something that is hard to explain to those who have not experienced it or are not close enough in age to consider it. For me, it's the best time in my life. I appreciate the lack of regimen and the freedom to do what I want and can do, even if its something I don't really enjoy doing. Haven't worn a watch since 3/31/13 and don't have plans to start wearing one again.

John Lennon said, "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans." How true those words ring to me. Approaching 63 years of age, receiving social security, 3 years from Medicare and just lost my Mom on July 1. Now Dad and Mom are both gone and I am the Patriarch of the Faulk family. I am now the Grandfather and Father and may one day be a Great Grandfather. It is a honor and the scariest time of my life. I pray that I can be all I can be to the family. The best to all of you and yours. -Bill

Age 65 is on the horizon, Social Security is nice. I plan to get back all I contributed and then some; appreciate all who are continuing to work and contribute to my retirement! Medicare is fast approaching this October; hope it is as nice as Social Security. I provide this guidance to all the adolescents in my family:
"Often time it happens that we live our lives in chains, and we never even know we have the key.
Just remember this my friend, you can see the stars and still not see the light." -Eagles
I believe we understand this as we grow older and wiser. Best to you all. -Bill
